This is an archive mix from back in 2003. I was picking through my record collection and trying to pull together as much fun, hand-baggy house music as I could. As I was primarily a techno/progressive/trance DJ it’s not really that cheesy and does get a bit trancy towards the end. Either way, packed full of fun tunes from primarily mid-90s. If you fancy swinging your handbag about check this one out!

Mix Archive: Lost In Space
This mix means a lot to me. I put it together back in 1997, after listening to Scott Hardkiss play his masterful Essential Mix {link to it on Soundcloud}. I quickly tracked down some of the tunes he showed us - this magical God Within stuff. Wow(!) Gotta have some of that. It is also the first mix I really nailed. Recording on a tape. Yeah, old skool! I sent this demo out to Muzik Magazine which ran monthly competitions called Bedroom Bedlam. Winners have included Youssef and James Zabiela. I was placed 4th that month, so not bad for a snotty teenage fucking about with the vinyl…
Anyway, back to the mix. We start off with some deep/tribal progressive house, then move into some more pumping clubbier tracks. This moves onward between house and bassy tracks and starts to introduce some breaks. There is a fun big-beaty bit then we finish up with some cracking drum and bass. A bit of a musical journey. Love it!

This is an archive mix from 2003. I had been away from mixing for a while in California and wanted to put together a great house mix that touched on all my favourite tracks. I think this works well as a guide to the sort of house music out there at the time, some deep, some funky, some pumping, driving and hands in the air. I hope you enjoy it!
